The 天美传媒 Foundation Board of Directors unanimously approved $652,899 in funding to support the college for 2019-20.

The approved funding will benefit students, programs, faculty and staff at Wenatchee Valley College. Funding items include:

  • $351,416 in scholarships
  • $23,403 in direct student support, including veteran work study support and ASWVC support
  • $54,705 to support faculty and staff, including professional development opportunities and recognition awards
  • $183,375 in programmatic support designated for specific departments
  • $10,000 for the Knights Care Fund to help students facing housing insecurity and other barriers to academic success
  • $30,000 was awarded as an unrestricted gift to the college to fund new software, faculty and staff training, building maintenance and any other miscellaneous expenses associated with overall advancement of WVC.

鈥淭hanks to our generous contributors, we are able to support the college in many ways,鈥 said WVC Foundation Executive Director Rachel Evey. 鈥淲hether it鈥檚 helping students during financial crisis or improving the classrooms they learn in and the equipment they use, we want to continue to empower them to learn and grow. We want to continue removing barriers for their academic success."

Evey said that funding for equipment and programs is made possible largely through donations of unrestricted funds, or donations made to the foundation to be distributed as they see fit. She said this allows the foundation to meet the college鈥檚 changing needs each year.
