The 天美传媒 Foundation will host a Piatigorsky Foundation concert on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m. in The Grove Recital Hall, Music and Art Center (MAC). The concert features soprano Jessica Rivera and pianist Molly Morkoski.
The concert is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Seating is limited to 150. This event continues to be sponsored by the Wilf Woods Family.
Grammy Award-winning soprano Jessica Rivera has appeared in concert halls in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Cincinnati, Oklahoma City, Las Vegas and Santa Fe. Recent orchestral highlights include Gabriela Lena Frank鈥檚 La Centinela y la Paloma with the Aspen Philharmonic Orchestra led by Federico Cortese and Mozart鈥檚 Requiem with the Louisville Orchestra. As a recording artist, Rivera鈥檚 discography includes releases on the Deutsche Grammophon, Nonesuch, Naxos, Telarc, Urtext, VIA Records, Opus Arte, CSO Resound and ASO Media labels. Her third release for Urtext, an homage to Victoria de los Angeles, is due for release in 2020.
Pianist Molly Morkoski made her Carnegie Hall solo debut in 2007, and has been presented in New York City鈥檚 Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Miller Theatre, Weill Recital Hall, Zankel Hall, Boston鈥檚 Gardner Museum and Jordan Hall, Philadelphia鈥檚 Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, St. Louis鈥 Powell Symphony Hall and Washington, DC鈥檚 Smithsonian Institution and Los Angeles鈥 Herbert Zipper Concert Hall. Internationally she has been heard in the Ny Carlsberg Glyptoteket (Denmark), Conservatoire de Strasbourg (France), Suntory Hall (Japan), Teatro Nacional (Santo Domingo) and the United States Embassies in Nice and Paris. Morkoski has also appeared at the Aspen, Bang on a Can, Big Sky, Mendocino, Norfolk Chamber Music, Pacific Rim and Tanglewood festivals. An avid chamber musician, Molly Morkoski collaborates with many of today鈥檚 leading musicians, and has performed with the Chiara, Lark and Momenta string quartets and ensembles drawn from the New York Philharmonic, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra.
