天美传媒 and the WVC Foundation are pleased to announce that Clint
Strand has been named as the new executive director of the Foundation. His first day was
Monday, Dec. 1.
As the WVC Foundation director, Strand will provide strategic direction and oversight
for fundraising efforts and activities for annual giving programs, major gifts, special
campaigns, and capital efforts; lead the Foundation in developing and implementing
fundraising programs, activities, and events in support of our college priorities;
partner with the Foundation board of directors in developing long- and short-term
planning; oversee the allocation of scholarship funding; and establish and maintain
positive relationships with our alumni, donors, community partners, and constituents. 鈥淭he Foundation board welcomes Mr. Strand as our new executive director," said Foundation
President Jorden Bullock. "He comes with a toolbelt that will help carry on and excel
the wonderful Foundation [that] Rachel Evey, our previous executive director, paved.
Mr. Strand will keep our team thriving and hitting new milestones. We are excited
to see what our future holds."
Strand brings strong regional connections and significant leadership, public relations,
communications, and marketing experience to WVC. He has been a Leavenworth City Councilmember since
2017 and serves as co-chair of the Affordable Housing Committee and as a member of
the Finance Committee, which provides oversight on the city鈥檚 bi-annual budget and
tourism-related expenditures. He has also served on the Leavenworth Area Promotions
Marketing Committee, helping to manage a multi-million dollar lodging tax budget,
and contributed to downtown revitalization and strategic growth as a member of the
Downtown Steering Committee.
While serving on the City Council, Strand was also the Public Relations director at
Cascade Medical in Leavenworth. He and his staff executed strategic planning, campaign
development, and budget oversight that aligned with the hospital鈥檚 goals and the community鈥檚
needs. He provided executive-level leadership of internal and external communication,
patient engagement initiatives, and public relations. Strand and his team developed
a communication strategy for a successful hospital levy initiative that passed with
a 77% 鈥測es鈥 vote. Part of his work in equity and engagement included chairing the
Patient and Family Advisory Committee and Patient Equity and Access Committee, which
strengthened patient-centered communication and equitable messaging.
Strand also served as a communications specialist at Confluence Health and as news
and program director for Icicle Broadcasting/KOHO 101.1 FM.
鈥淢r. Strand鈥檚 extensive experience in communications, marketing, media relations,
and health care, in addition to his current elected role and connection with our community,
are all assets that will bring great value to WVC and to the work that our Foundation
does to support our students and our college,鈥 said WVC President Faimous Harrison.
